About:
More Than Dinner is a dining experience inspired by communal eating in South Asia. It proposes alternative ways of eating together that focus on collaboration and play.
The project disrupts and redesigns familiar eating tools, allowing diners to rethink their relationship with food, cutlery, and each other.

Phase 1:
Product Design
I designed three products, each around a different course: drinks, dinner and dessert.
Three-Headed
Straw:
A straw designed to only function when multiple people drink from it at the same time.
Material: Stainless Steel
One-Legged Plate:
A communal plate that relies on three people to stay balanced.
Material: Brass & Tin
Elongated Spoon:
A long spoon that disrupts solo use and encourages mutual feeding.

Nine participants experienced the toolkit through a three-course meal built around interdependence. As convener, I structured the dinner but stepped away, allowing the group to discover the experience through trial and error. I joined for dessert once they had established their own rhythm.
